Vanessa Hudgens’ Java Run, New Role

Looking oh-so-fashionable, High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens was spotted out grabbing a coffee for herself and her mother this morning (January 11).

The 19-year-old Disney actress was well wrapped up, wearing a thick scarf on top of a brown and black button down sweater as she hit a Toluka Lake java spot for a quick pick-me-up.




Meanwhile, it was also announced by the Hollywood Reporter that Miss Hudgens “is set for the role of Sam in Will, a coming-of-age story about a high school rock band made up of misfits.”

The flick, which is described as “a dramedy about a popular girl forming a rock band with a bunch of young outcasts who come together over their love of music and compete in a local Battle of the Bands,” is set to begin production next month in Austin, Texas.

Vanessa Hudgens Talks Nude Photo Scandal

Looking as cute as ever in a stylishly patterned dress, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted out to the studio in Santa Monica on Wednesday (January 2).

The High School Musical hottie recently opened up in an interview with Seventeen, talking about her rebound from a nude photo scandal that made waves on the Internet in Spetember of 2007.




"I’m much better now,” the 19-year-old said, adding, “But truthfully I don’t like talking about it.”

Speaking of the backlash caused by the private photos, Vanessa says, “It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends and fans, who supported me all along the way.”

Meanwhile, when asked how she found out that her nude self was popping up on computer monitors around the world, the Disney star tells: “I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I Was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home – it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.”

Continuing on to what could’ve been the toughest part, Hudgens told of how she broke the news to her mom, saying, “I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, ‘Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.’ “

About 45 minutes after entering LA Fitness, the camera-shy Disney duo made their way out to the car and back to Miss Hudgens’ house.

The gym outing was the third time Ashley and Vanessa have spent time together in the past four days - signaling that their friendship is growing strong than ever.

According to paparazzi following her every move, the young actress spent part of the day at an office building before leaving with a Police Escort. Throughout the course of the day, she also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Zac Efron Puts the “OO” in COOL!

He’s the hottest boy in Hollywood, and Zac Efron knows how to turn heads. He showed up at the Santa Monica set of Seventeen earlier today in a brand-spanking-new Audi sportscar, looking slick in his black leather jacket.

Once there, Zac met up with former Friends actor Matthew Perry, as the two shook hands and got ready to work together for the first time.





Also starring in the movie is Michelle Trachtenberg, who recently discussed working with Zac. She confessed that “it’s nice coming to work with Zac Efron,” adding, “he’s like the loveliest thing and doing a great job on the movie.”

Changing subjects, Michelle talked about Zac’s High School Musical co-star girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, saying, “I have not met Vanessa (face to face) yet.” However, Michelle did reveal that she has chatted with her on the phone, “discussing their mutual love for the Spice Girls.”

Vanessa Hudgens’ Lawsuit Approved By Judge

Bad news for Vanessa Hudgens… Yesterday a judge ruled that her former attorney will be allowed to move forward with his $150,000 lawsuit against her.

Brian Schall, the High School Musical actress’ former attorney, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against her this past September. Back in 2005, he alleges, Hudgens agreed to pay him five percent of her earnings as payment for his services.



And where it gets dismal for Nessa is that she’s earned over $5 million due to Schall’s assistance. Although, the singer/actress’ current attorney claims that California law provides that a contract with a minor can be voided before the person turns 18, or “within a reasonable time afterward.”

Since she turns 19 in less than two weeks, the jury will have to decide what the statute of limitations is on the “reasonable time afterward.” Reportedly she disavowed the contract back in October.

Vanessa’s next hearing is January 15th, and we’ll keep you updated on the developments of this case.

Vanessa Hudgens’ Best Buddies Gala Fun

After paying a visit to Ocean Drive magazine on Friday to promote the charitable cause, Vanessa Hudgens spent her Saturday attending the 2007 Best Buddies Gala in Miami, Florida.

With an orchid in her hair to set off a casual and cute outfit, the High School Musical star kept busy by chatting it up with former Olympian Carl Lewis, as well as former Miss Teen USA, Kelly Hu.



As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Best Buddies is a program that provides employment opportunities and one-on-one friendships for people with mental handicaps.

Vanessa told press of her visit to the Sunshine state, “I’m here today in Miami to support Best Buddies. Best Buddies is an amazing organization that helps support people with mental disabilities. Today, it actually put them in jobs, which is why I’m here at Ocean Drive. My manager is the person who actually developed it, and I found out about it and I thought it was an amazing organization. It’s really neat to reach out to people who are, like, fans, too. Just to be able to be a part of their lives is really neat.”

Vanessa Hudgens Wasn’t Looking To Be Famous

She’s one of the most recognizable singer/actresses of the up and coming generation in Hollywood, but Vanessa Hudgens says she never meant for it to be this way.

The High School Musical hottie confesses that the whole fame and fortune thing was never a part of her original plan. She told press, “I became an actress and started singing and dancing because I truly loved it. I did not want to be a celebrity. ... I think fame is just something that comes along when you are in something that is such a success.”



And along with celebrity comes other undesirable side-effects. “People become jaded and infatuated with Hollywood. I think it happens to a lot of celebrities, and it messes with their head.”

If not for HSM, Hudgens says she may have taken a more Kelly Clarkson route. “I was 15 at the time ... and you had to be 16 to audition. So I thought, ‘One more year.’ Then, when I turned 16, High School Musical came along and I got to do it. So I thought I’d skip on American Idol.”

Vanessa Hudgens Helps the Homeless

Continuing on with a second trip out shopping with her mom yesterday (changing clothes in between, of course), Vanessa Hudgens toted around her infamous red purse from store to store.

It seems that the Christmas spirit has gotten into the High School Musical actress, as she is said to have graciously given a $20 dollar bill to a homeless gentleman outside of the mall once she finished grabbing a few presents.



Meanwhile, in career-related news, the 18-year-old Disney star recently attended the DVD release party for the second HSM installment, talking to press about what she thinks the reason is behind it’s success.

“I think what is so great about the ‘HSM’ series is that people can really connect to our characters and fall in love with our characters; teens love all that drama that surrounds our lives.”

In a recent interview during a red carpet appearance, Vanessa talked about her new album, saying that it has a “definitely more grown-up” sound. The 18-year-old added that “she’s seven songs into the record, which she expects to have out after she finishes filming the third High School Musical movie in the spring.”

“It’s really fun, R&B, soulful,” she says, also mentioning, “I’m still waiting to work with the big producers. I’m trying to work out another movie before we start ‘High School Musical 3’ as well, but trying to figure out everyone’s schedule - it’s very complicated.”

After attending the International Vision Expo yesterday in Vegas, Vanessa Hudgens kept up her busy schedule with a trip to this afternoon’s Variety Power of Youth event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The High School Musical starlet has already made her way to the Globe Theater in Universal City, where Variety is holding its latest fundraiser.




Once she showed up, Vanessa almost immediately ran into and spent a little time with fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana).

After spending Friday evening meeting his baseball idol Barry Bonds, Zac Efron spent the following day with his High School Musical sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens.

The couple, who seem to be together and strong despite much chatter to the contrary, were spotted out taking a cruise in Zac’s new Audi A6.




During their ride around town, Zac and Vanessa made a pit stop at a Burbank gas station. There, the Disney duo playfully entertained paparazzi on the scene, along with having an unexpected run-in with fellow actor Peter Greene.

According to sources on the scene, “The high school sweethearts then drove to a friend’s house where they spent the rest of the afternoon.”
